Life or Something Like It

Life SHOULD NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well- preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally WORN out and screaming "WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!!"

I've just been glued to the tv watching the events in Japan. I just can't quit watching. It's very frustrating to me when I don't understand all of the talk and implications regarding the nuclear reactors. I just know it's bad. Royce tried to basically explain it to me, but I was under the impression that it wad going to explode like when we dropped the bombs in Nagasaki and Heroshima. But I'm understanding that the threat is of radioactive exposure. So I'm learning. It's so hard and yet fascinating to just watch that tsunami literally swallow everything in it's path. And thar whirlpool a few days ago was just wild - with that ship in it.

I love Charlie Sheen and all - but all that's a little boring since the 11th.

And I want to know why the U.N. isn't helping the Libyans? Not enough financial motivation? Or am I simplifying it too much? I really wish I was smarter sometimes. I don't understand alot.

Meanwhile, back on the ranch - it's spring break for the older kids, so lots of lounging. I have lost a few pounds lately, down to 185. Am going to start walking today. Ryan had his special ed meeting/update Monday. Overall he is doing better, and will be getting 45 min a day one on one. This is good. Taxes are done - yay.

Going to try and post more often.

I can't watch the Tsunami stuff. We have a close friend who still hasn't been able to contact his family there, and friends in the military that are on watch. It's all just too close to home. If we need to know something, the friends will tell us. That may make me seem, ignorant, I don't know, but I just know I can only handle what I can handle, and the Tsunami isn't on the list right now...
Charlie Sheen is a disaster! I don't follow him either, but hear updates on the radio and such. Wow. Did he just crack, or has it be slowly building?
Goodness.
Too much craziness in our world!

I've taken to drinking red wine and watching Family Guy. I was glued from the second I heard it on the radio when we woke up at 545am pst on Friday. And I watched as the wave ate up towns, cars trying to escape. Lives. Tonight I watched as it washed away a small group of people that were on a hill, with someone that was too old or difficult to carry up the hill. I cried and then I poured a drink. (And took a look at what I have in terms of emergency kits) Life is short. Hug your kids. Forgive faults. And get an emergency kit for a month (or 2? - these people may not have electricity or water if they are still alive in a month) ready. We are stupid if we don't think it's coming our way. *drinks* hell, what if there really is something to the Mayan prophecies....
Yeah, focus on what you can do for you and your loved ones and send positive vibes/prayers for those poor, poor people in Japan. Have mercy.
