Life or Something Like It

Life SHOULD NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well- preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally WORN out and screaming "WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!!"

Happy Birthday Nikki !!!!

Happy Birthday Nikki!!!!!

Happy Birthday to my oldest and bestest friend in the whole world. The friend who knows more about me than anyone, who knows me better than myself, and who could blackmail the hell out of me.

I love you like a sister and am so happy that you have been my bestest friend for 22 years now. Oh my god, can you believe its been 22 years since 8th grade?

Every heartbreak, every success, every failure, every life change, marriage, divorce, men, boys, kids, jobs, high points, low points, we have been there for each other. And all the music we have done together. We've never had one argument, and were friends from day one. I still remember day one. When I saw you walk up to the school with Jonathon and your dad.

We could talk everyday and never get tired of each other, or we could go 10 years without talking, and know that it would be like yesterday.

I still remember WAB, playing Wind beneath my wings for you, how you wouldn't let me listen to the radio on Friday night at camp, how you always told me I had "something" on the back of my skirt, Tempe Women's Club, Music Festival, you watching over me when I was drunk at Campmeeting, and just everything.

We were kids together, grew up together (well, kinda grew up) but have never grown apart. I gave my first daughter your name as her middle name. I love you and would do anything for you (like hunting scott down and making him pay).

I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful birthday.
Love you

Barb

:) Thank you. I love you too.
Yes, we are collectively old.
And know too damn much about each other to be safe in public.
I remember all of those little things, and all the big stuff too.
I am honored to be the namesake of your miss Syd and will always be your sister.
I hope we get to see each other soon. We have much to catch up on.
Nic
