Life or Something Like It

Life SHOULD NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well- preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally WORN out and screaming "WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!!"

Why I hate christians.......number 874.......

(this is becoming a recurring theme)

http://gofreenow.blogspot.com/

Informing someone that they are immoral to keep them from injuring themselves, how fucking thoughtful of you all. Condescending freaks. You should be thankful there is ANY enrollment in our armed forces with Bush in charge.

(and you know the gay bashers all have either kiddy porn, a mistress, handcuffs and a whip, or a raging STD )

Like I said, please please throw the first stone. We all know how that story turned out.

Once again, its not Jesus - its is fucking fan club. The psyche ward.

I don't believe that anything I could say would sway the blog person. There was a book written a couple of years ago, I can't for the life of me remember who wrote it, maybe John Dean of the Nixon era. Anyway, it talked about the fact that there are always going to be sheeple. A good 20% of the population that will never ever change their minds, no matter what evidence to the contrary is put in front of them. That woman is one of the sheeple. I am an equal opportunity basher, I am currently trying to find out why the hell the Dems backed off on making the Prez go thru congress before we attack Iran. But, like I said, I could go onto that site and give her all kinds of information. But she would never read it. She is happy with what she knows and doesn't want to know what she doesn't know. Undoubtedly Christian and 100% DELUDED. I hear your anger and I completely understand. But, again, all it would do is piss me off to spend the energy on her, so I won't. If I thought for a minute it'd make a difference I would, but she is too far gone. I will sit back and enjoy with a big grin on my face and a big fat I TOLD YOU SO when it all falls down around their ankles. Until then, it's better to watch them prop themselves up...they fall further.

Gabrielle is hardly "one of those people". She seems to be a very loving person of faith with whom you disagree about a particular issue. It's fine if you don't agree with her, but don't attack her personally. Sure there are Christians who are hypocrites, it's a human failing. That's why we need Jesus in the first place. He died so that we can live.

Hammerswing75, she is one of "those people". The bible plainly says not to judge under the penalty of having the judgement visited upon yourself.
This plainly means that although the bible may call a person or a group of people sinners you, her, or any other person cannot. The book you base your beliefs on tells you it is a sin to do so. Yet christians continue this action, the very act is hypocritical PERIOD.

Jesus shouted at the Pharisees, the hypocrites of his day. He told them in no uncertain terms how he felt about their hypocrisy and the way they treated the poor/helpless.
The Pharisees were the religious leaders of his day. Just reading how he went off at them makes me shout out in agreement!!!

Something tells me he would walk into my church - almost any church today and rip the place apart because of the hypocrisy and false religion he would find there... I could go on!

Great blog

Julie.

It is wrong to judge people and treat them like garbage. When Jesus said, "Let him without sin cast the first stone" there was a group of hypocrites on the verge of murdering a woman. I totally agree with you on that. Using Christ as a weapon is wrong.

That said, we would live in a fearful world indeed if we did not judge generalized behavior. Refusing to take sides on moral issues is dangerous. To use a more unambiguous example than homosexuality, can we deem theft wrong or would Jesus condemn that?

You hit the nail on the head hammerswing, Jesus ( if he exists ) would judge the behavior not you.
Crime and personal morality are two completely different subjects by the way. Comparing the two is arrogant, ignorant and insulting.
Theft is taking away something that belongs to you, rape is a crime too as is assualt. Who I is choose to sleep with deprives no one of anything.
Homosexuality is common in nature, there are horses and dogs that exclusively mate with the same sex, they are not sinning are they. It's been shown that many many male homosexuals have alarmingly high levels of estrogen. Some even have thicker corpus colosums in their brains, a decidedly female development. They were literally born that way. If it is natural for them to be attracted to the same sex how is that a sin.
Plus how much of the bible is a cultural book. Women should cover their head in public, they can't teach a congregation if a qualified man is present, if a person takes the life of your relative you have the right to kill them unless they get to a city of safe haven, ect ect ect.
Here is some revolutionary thinking for you when the jews were first in egypt there were no laws banning fornication, the first law to do so came after the first recorded case of syphillis wich when you trace it's epidemiology began in egypt. There were many laws on what meat was unclean, interestingly all of those meats carried certain parasites, touching a dead body was forbidden because it carried disease.
So lets review, cooking techniques improved....no animal is unclean, sanitation regarding dead bodies improved....touching a dead body is no longer a sin, somebody invented a condom.....well you do the math.
And finally Jesus himself never spoke out against homosexuality, he did not say love neighbor as yourself........unless he's a filthy queer. He din't say that you should pay back Ceasers things to Ceaser....... unless he's biting a pillow. NOPE he set a standard of actions to be equally applied to all humans. PERIOD. If a person claims to be christian and then dscriminates against any person or group of people they are pretty much self righteous hypocrites. After all they claim to follow christs example.
