Life or Something Like It

Life SHOULD NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well- preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally WORN out and screaming "WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!!"

Day 4 of MC, nightshift 2

It is officially day 4 of the Master Cleanse. I had 4 glasses of lemonade yesterday (you are supposed to have 6). But no cramping today. Tonight's shift at work has been the hardest, I was so hungry. Asking myself if I really want to do this. But it passed. The lemonade helps that feeling after I drink it. This diet does weird things to your mind. Clears things up. I feel really subdued. Very very calm. Like I don't feel anger about ANYTHING, even when people are stressed out or pissed off around me. Things that would usually tick me off. Its weird.

The bike riding is going well. Its been so long since I rode that my butt hurts so bad - like its bruised. Very sore. That will pass too. And it is very cold in the morning when I ride home, and very cold at night when I ride to work. But I am only cold for a few minutes. And its dark, and I can't see as well as I used to. And I have to ride with alot of traffic.

I hear these things in my head. Reasons to stop. But in response to those thoughts I hear the Nike slogan - Just Do It. Just get on the bike, and ride, whether it is cold, or I am sore, or I don't feel like it, or the conditions aren't perfect. Just do it. Don't be a pussy.

I have lost 14 pounds since Christmas day. When I lose enough I am going to join a yoga class. I know it goes against all of yoga philosophy to base my start date on my current weight, but I just don't feel comfortable as a fat girl getting into those poses - or trying to - in a room full of little miss perfects. The time will come, and I will join then. Might try some yoga at home in the meantime.

Royce went and bought me a bike light and a backpack today.

It is a nice night in labor and delivery. A quiet night. I have one little patient that I am trying to induce into labor. Only one patient all night long. It is nice here tonight. I get to work with Robin and Jenn. And Heather just came from the ER to visit me.

Life is good. Still thinking.

I can't tell you what I'm sending, it won't be a secret! :) I'm glad you're doing well. I'm a little freaked that you're riding your bike in Phoenix. But then again I'm in the stix. I tried to do that cleanse thing but I think I have to start it on a weekend. Otherwise I go a little bit insane at work, you know Royce and that grilled cheese sandwish? Yeah, I'd be in trouble. SO, I'm just sticking to soup and the lemonade. It snowed a bunch today. Like an inch in about 20 minutes. My co-worker got her car stolen out of the parkinglot in mid-day (hence my fear of the city bicycle jaunts) today. Crazy huh? Yes, patience my dear. I'm sending that thing tomorrow.
:)
love ya

I have thought about doing the MC, but I think my body would go into some type of shock and they'd have to put me in a hyperbaric chamber....

I dunno if I would be able to refrain from maiming someone without my carbs> LOL

I wish i was as strong as you, i could use to lose a couple-50 lbs.

Don't wait to go to yoga. You'll be surprised at how many un-perfect bodies there are! It might motivate you to keep up the good work.

I started yoga last year in Dec. and it motivated me to lose an additional 10 lbs.! Plus it's much safer than riding a bike in the street!

Shopping For New Bicycle AccessoriesMy son got a new bike for Christmas. He also received gifts of money from various relatives for purchasing bicycle accessories. He totaled up his money and we visited a website together to choose which bicycle accessories that he wanted. My son told me before we even got to the website that he had also been saving his allowance. He was sure that he could buy all of the bicycle accessories that his heart desired. I like that he has been saving his money for what he really wants.I told my son that we need to find all of the bicycle accessories that would make riding safer. He agreed. We found a 12v Generator with a Krypton bulb. I will be a lot happier with him riding his bike when the sun is going down if he has some illumination. He liked the idea of the headlight and agreed to it. He found another safety item for his new bicycle accessories. He found red flashing safety lights. I think that he said they were cool.A bell was the third of the bicycle accessories to get picked. I wish it was as loud as a car horn, but I think it really will be effective for its intended use. He saw a plastic horn and thought that it was stupid.I told my son that if he wanted to ride his new bike to school, then two of his new bicycle accessories needed to be a lock and a helmet. He had trouble finding a helmet that matched the paint on his new bike. I told him that we could go to a local sporting goods store to find the right one. He also preferred a different kind of bike lock than this website had to offer. We had a good time finding the bicycle accessories for his new bike. I think that he is going to have a lot of fun and some more freedom. I am thinking that I may want to sign him up for a bike safety class and also a minor bike repairs class. Both of those would teach him a lot.To learn more about everything bicycles vist my site at: BrensMartUSA Bicycles Have a geat day and stay healthy!Brenda Sue
