Life or Something Like It

Life SHOULD NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well- preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally WORN out and screaming "WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!!"

All this Christmas music makes me very reminiscent. I keep going back in my head to places and times that we sang or played those songs, or just listened. So many different places in my head. Choir, when Karl and I sang, concerts, just sitting with friends and playing. My kids. They haven't played that stupid one yet tonight about the little boy who wants shoes for his mom. I hate that one. (I'm stuck in OB triage - speculums, KY and the radio for 12 hours.)

Christmastime is here - the Charlie Brown one, is probably my favorite.

Karen bought me some glasses. I can finally see. They make me look smart.

Christmas shoes, first time i heard that song i cried....so sad. Sometimes I can't help but listen to it, but it does get overplayed.

The Christmas music was JUST noticed starting yesterday, and since i only get 1 station on my radio at work, i had to start bringing in cd's. I refuse to listen to hours of that music before thanksgiving. It gets annoying, i'm not fully in the spirit yet.

But i do like "Dominique the Donkey" - we always try to sing and giggle like little kids when it comes on...making Donkey sounds.
Yes, we are sad.

Take care and be well.

I am SOOOOO in the Christmas mood this year. Can't wait for it. I always pull out the Christmas music early. Love Harry Connick Jr.'s Christmas stuff as well as the Mantovani orchestra. Gorgeous stuff! Do you guys ever get snow out there?

Shellibells, your picture cracks me up, you crazy girl!!!!!! LOL
